Cambridge Asia British Parliamentary (CABP) is a tournament series run by LearningLeaders in conjunction with the Cambridge Union Society, one of the world's oldest University Debating Unions.
The top teams in each tournament qualify for the Cambridge Schools competition in March 2023, or (for CABP Junior) the International Competition for Young Debaters, or ICYD.

LearningLeaders offers regular online winter and summer camps with our partners from the Cambridge Union Society and the Harvard College Debating Union.
Held in World Schools (WSDC) and British Parliamentary (BP) debate format, the camps build students’ understanding of key debate topic areas from education and democracy to artificial intelligence.

World Schools Debating League - Finals Day Spring 2023
May 20 Online
WSDL concludes on May 20th with our Finals Day. The top teams in the tournament will battle it out in both Open and Junior categories. As well as welcoming observers, we are also giving students the opportunity to participate in Grand Finals in the company of an expert coach as part of a unique learning experience.

IBSC Debate Open 2023

The International Bilingual School of Central Taiwan is hosting this online tournament in association with our friends at the Taiwan Debate Union - open to anyone in middle or high School.
NHSDLC BP Open
May 20-21 Online
The National High School Debate League of China, which have been running Public Forum tournaments for many years now, offer their first BP competition. It will be open to schools and university teams from around the region and held on Zoom.
Sofia Online Open 2023
May 20-21 Online
Online BP debate competition with excellent CAP. If you always wanted to debate in a Bulgarian debate tournament but never had the money to fly to Sofia, this is your chance!
TOC Workers Cup
May 20-21 Online
TOC return with the Workers' Cup, a BP debate tournament held online with a range of break categories for debaters of different ages and experience levels.
Papillon IV World Schools Tournament
May 26-28 Online
5 rounds of WSDC debate with a mix of prepared and impromptu motions, and a range of breaks including U16 and U14. Chief Adjudicator is our WSDL judge Vladimira Šuflaj.
Outspoken Spring Semester Tournament
May 27-28 Online
Run by our friends from Outspoken in the Philippines, this schools tournament will have 4 preliminary rounds on Saturday and both Open and Novice break rounds on Sunday. Teams should bring a judge.
Surabaya Debate Open 2023
May 27-28 Online
This Open competition is likely to be attended by many university teams, but may be suitable for schools debaters with a bit more experience and confidence. British Parliamentary format.
Stand2Challenge 2023
May 27-28 In-Person (Rawang, Malaysia)
This in-person BP tournament will take place in Rawang near Kuala Lumpur at the end of May, in Asian Parliamentary format. It is for school students only, and registration is free of charge thanks to sponsorship.
Tokyo IV 2023
June 3-4 Online
This British Parliamentary tournament is aimed at college students but will comprise a Novice division which may be suitable for school students - check with them!
RedDot Online Debate Championship 2023
June 9-11 Online
WSDC Format, 5 preliminary rounds, aimed specifically at debaters aged 13-17 in East Asia time zones - and a cash prize for the champions!
Asia World Schools Debate Open (AWSDO) 2023
June 10-11 Online
Organised by our friends from MIDP in Malaysia, AWSDO is for students aged 14-18. 4 rounds of WSDC debate on Saturday followed by Open and Novice breaks.
Saigon Debating Championship 2023
June 14-16 In-Person (Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam)
The Saigon Debating Championship will be held in-person in mid June. This is a WSDC competition with both English and Vietnamese language divisions. Registration is currently ongoing.
Thistle Cup 2023
June 16-18 Online
The first ever Thistle Cup will be held online by the Scottish Schools Debating organization and welcomes WSDC teams from across Asia. There will be both Open and Novice breaks and teams can either bring a judge or pay additional fee to have one provided.
Protea Pre-WSDC 2023
June 23-25 Online
South African tournament Protea Pre-WSDC is being positioned as a pre-World Schools competition with an all star CAP including our own WSDL judges, Njugunia Macharia and Ruth Selorme Acolatse.
Prague Debate Spring 2023
July 7-10, In-Person (Czech Republic)
One of the major schools tournaments returns to an in-person format for the first time since 2019. 6 impromptu rounds of WSDC debate, followed by a break to Octofinals, in the beautiful city of Prague.

ICYD
The International Competition for Youth Debaters (ICYD) is held every year by the Oxford or Cambridge Union for BP debaters below the age of 15. LearningLeaders will host the East Asian qualifying rounds in 2022-23.

WIDPSC
The World Individual Debating and Public Speaking Championships (WIDPSC) are held annually to determine the top overall student and school in the world. Students must compete in four events (three public speaking and one debating).

WSDC
The World Schools Debating Championship (WSDC) is considered the most competitive World Schools style competition for countries annually. Each country puts forward one team to compete for the title of World Champion.

AWSDC
The Asian World Schools Debating Championships (AWSDC) brings together the top schools teams in Asia in July.

EurOpen
The EurOpen competition is Europe's unofficial regional schools championship. It is best suited for students in high school, or stronger middle school debaters.

SPSDC
The Shanghai Public Speaking and Debating Championships (SPSDC) is one of the biggest tournaments held in China, with divisions for WSDC, BP, Public Forum and various speech events.
